Viewing My First Book
The first copy of my book arrived today. I could say how excited I felt, but it was different than that. Thoughtful would better describe my reaction. Holding the book in my hands, I ran my fingers over the glossy cover, taking in the cover art. The outline of blue enhances the painting, I thought.
Carefully folding back the cover, I read the first page. Nice font. Wiping the table free of dust with my sleeve, I set the book down where it transformed into a curious sculpture, -to be viewed from all sides, close and afar.
Here lay the years of writing, learning, re-writng, and editing, all condensed into this little book. To thoughtful, I must include the word grateful.
