When Winter Has Teeth
Winter winds with icy teeth blasted in the new year. A preemptive shovelling strike lessened the heaviness of the full snowstorm clean-up. I kicked off my boots and tossed my mittens by the heater.
Bolstered by a pot of soup simmering on the stove, I’m ready to don my creative thinking cap, and write my first entry in a long time.
The blank page, dull as a field of snow on a grey day, taunts me. How to kick start the flow of words or creativity of any kind? The popular advice is just start. Just do it. So okay, but where to begin?
I’m checking what I just wrote and realize that I’ve already begun. For those of us with ideas lurking in dusty cerebral compartments, just start. I’ll take that as good advice.
